Patna (Bihar) [India], September 15 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav on Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to check the “deplorable” conditions of the roads, medical centres and schools in Bihar when he visits the State to inaugurate the Purnea airport.
Claiming that a “financial burden” is placed on the people of the state through various rallies, the leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly said that the money could have been spent to address the problems of inflation, poverty, unemployment, and migration, while playgrounds and separate toilets for girls in schools could have been constructed.
“Prime Minister Modi Ji, before showering a deluge of empty promises in Purnia today, kindly take note of the dilapidated rural roads, teacherless schools, crumbling health centres, and the public issues troubling women and youth plagued by inflation, poverty, unemployment, and migration within a 2-3 kilometre radius of your rally venue. You must have surely noticed the deplorable condition of Purnia’s medical college yesterday,” the RJD leader said on X.
PM Modi is set to launch the National Makhana Board and inaugurate the Interim Terminal Building at New Civil Enclave of Purnea Airport today.
According to Yadav, a single rally of PM Modi imposes a “financial burden” of 100 crore on the state, saing that the money could have been spent to upgrade schools, playgrounds for the children instead.
“You have held numerous rallies in Bihar. With thousands of crores of such a massive amount, the boundary walls of Bihar’s schools, playgrounds, and separate toilets for girls in schools could have been constructed, and human resources and medicines could have been arranged for health centres,” his post read.
He further criticised the PM for not granting special status to the State.
“Prime Minister Ji, do you remember that 11.5 years ago, from this very Purnia district, you promised to grant Bihar special state status? What happened to that promise? Are you once again coming to sell false promises and empty rhetoric to the people of Bihar before the elections?” he asked in the post.
Amid the ongoing seat sharing talks in the Mahagathbandhan alliance, consisting of the RJD, Congress, various left parties and others, Yadav has said that he will “contest all 243 seats” in the Bihar assembly, while he addressed a rally in Muzaffarpur.
While the NDA, comprising the BJP, JD(U), and LJP, aims to continue its tenure in Bihar, the INDIA bloc, comprising the RJD, Congress, and left parties, seeks to oust Nitish Kumar.
In the current Bihar Assembly of 243 members, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) consists of 131, with the BJP having 80 MLAs, JD(U)-45, HAM(S)-4, with the support of 2 Independent candidates. The Opposition’s INDIA Bloc has a strength of 111 members with RJD leading with 77 MLAs, Congress-19, CPI(ML)-11, CPI(M)-2 and CPI-2.
PM Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects worth around Rs 36,000 crore at Purnea.
He will lay the foundation stone of 3×800 MW thermal power project at Pirpainti, Bhagalpur. It will be Bihar’s largest private sector investment worth Rs 25,000 crore. It is designed on ultra-super critical, low-emission technology. The project will provide dedicated power and strengthen Bihar’s energy security.
According to the Prime Minister’s office, In line with his commitment to improve rail connectivity, Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of rail projects and flag off multiple trains in the state.
The foundation stone of the Rail Line between Bikramshila – Katareah worth over Rs 2,170 crore, providing direct rail link across the river Ganga will be laid too. The train aims to provide a direct rail link across the Ganga. (ANI)
