Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 14 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir cricket fans on Sunday expressed confidence in Team India ahead of the Asia Cup clash against Pakistan, saying the match will be tough, but India’s strong line-up gives them an edge and “they will win like always.”
Rohit Chandel, a cricket fan from Jammu, said, “Being Indian, our favourite is obviously India. This match is not going to be easy. Although Pakistan’s team is new, there will be tough competition. It will be easy for India if we get a good start.”
Another fan from Jammu backed the Indian team, saying, “India will win like always. Our entire team is strong. I have maximum hopes from Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah… It seems as if Pakistan cricket is almost over.”
India and Pakistan will face each other in the evening in Dubai.
From Mumbai, cricket enthusiast Shubham Chavan said, “The match should not take place. But as a sportsman, it should. India vs Pakistan is a big match. The matches are thrilling. It goes till the last over. So, it will be entertaining. India will win.”
Asgar Ali, a fan from Ahmedabad, voiced opposition to the match. “This match should not be played. Such a significant incident took place in our country, but we are still playing a cricket match against them. According to me, we should boycott this completely,” he said.
However, another fan held a different view, stating, “The match should be taking place. Sports and war are two different things. We should not mix them. We will watch this match definitely.”
Meanwhile, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the decision to play against Pakistan. Speaking to the media, he said, “My question to the Chief Minister of Assam, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and all of them is that you don’t have the power to refuse to play a cricket match against Pakistan, which asked for the religion of our 26 citizens in Pahalgam and shot them.” (ANI)
