New Delhi [India], August 27 (ANI): With former Jharkhand Chief Minister leader Champai Soren deciding to join their party, BJP leaders took a dig at Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday and said more leaders will leave Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.
Jharkhand BJP chief Babulal Marandi alleged that people were “feeling humiliated and are slowly leaving the party” due to “corrupt officials” surrounding Hemant Soren.
“First Sita Soren left the party, then you are seeing Champai Soren leaving the party. Just wait and watch how many more people will leave the party,” he said.
Former JMM member and BJP leader Sita Soren said earlier that JMM leaders were connected but today the situation is not such that every leader is respected.
“If he (Champai Soren) was given respect or made the Chief Minister, he should have been allowed to remain the Chief Minister… It is an insult to him…Champai Soren did not say anything against the party. He was with the party in every situation but such a situation arose that he took this decision,” she said.
Pappu Yadav, Independent MP from Purnia, however slammed Champai Soren and said that such behaviour breaks the trust of people.
“The way Hemant Soren has trusted Champai Soren–instead of making CM to any of his family members, he made a party worker the CM. These characters lead to distrust among people… It’s a time when people will come and go, but the SC, ST, OBC, and Dalit community is firmly with Hemant Soren,” he said.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to X on Monday to announce that Champai Soren will join BJP on August 30 in Ranchi.
“Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and a distinguished Adivasi leader of our country, Champai Soren, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah a short while ago. He will officially join the BJP on 30th August in Ranchi,” the Assam CM said. (ANI)
