New Delhi [India], September 14 (ANI): Residents of New Delhi are backing the Indian cricket team for the victory ahead of the Asia Cup clash against Pakistan on Sunday.
Speaking to ANI, Anmol Kumar Ojha, a resident of the national capital, expressed confidence in Team India and said that they will beat the Pakistan cricket team as usual.
He noted that despite the team not having the services of former captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli, the team still looks “strong”.
“India is coming after a win against the UAE, and we hope team India will beat Pakistan as usual. Our two destructive players, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who had previously beaten Pakistan, are no longer in the team; however, our team remains strong. We have players like Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav. Go India!” he said.
Another resident, Krishna, wished the national team and said, “All the best to team India.”
The Indian cricket team will lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan in their second Group A clash of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, which will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium here on Sunday.
Both teams are heading into the contest on the back of convincing wins in their respective openers. India dominated hosts UAE by nine wickets in their first match, while Pakistan outclassed Hong Kong, China by 93 runs comfortably.
The result makes Sunday’s encounter pivotal in the race to the Super Four. A win here not only brings bragging rights but also strengthens early qualification chances, according to Olympics.com.
Suryakumar Yadav is captaining a 15-member Indian Asia Cup 2025 squad in the UAE, with Shubman Gill serving as his deputy.
Seventh in the T20I rankings, the Pakistan cricket team has won the Asia Cup twice before and is looking for a third crown under the captaincy of Salman Ali Agha. (ANI)
